Sleep Naked

Are you a pajama sleeper, a sweats and t-shirt person, booty shorts or boxers, or do you prefer to sleep in the buff? I am a lover of all. Sometimes I just want to be cozy and comfy in sweats. Super cute jammies or booty shorts and a tank make me feel flirty and sexy, but typically, I do enjoy a good night in the nude. I feel free and sexy, safe and confident, and even find I tend to sleep more soundly.

When you don’t get high-quality, deep sleep, the toxic proteins remain in your brain cells, wreaking havoc and ultimately impairing your ability to think. This slows your ability to process information and problem solve, kills your creativity, and increases your emotional reactivity.”

I highly recommend you read the article in its entirety -- it has some mind blowing information and if I can’t convince you to strip it all off before crawling into bed, maybe it can. I was also excited to find that sleeping naked can improve your skin! For real, I discovered that tidbit in a Healthline article where I also found 2 incredibly crucial benefits: vaginal health and an increase in male fertility. We have all likely been told at least once to minimize our constrictive clothing, avoid wearing tight underwear and immediately change out of sweaty or wet clothing to avoid the pesky overproduction of yeast, leading to infections. According to the article, “Regardless of what you wear during the day, sleeping naked is an easy way to air out your vagina and keep it healthy.” Still follow those guidelines, but improve your vaginal health even more by tossing in some well-deserved masturbation time before/during/after hopping into bed.

As for male fertility, the article goes on to convey, “A recent study of 656 males suggested a link between wearing tight-fitting underwear and lower sperm count. Men who reported wearing boxers had a higher sperm concentration and total sperm count than those who wore tight underwear."

My all time favorite reason for sleeping naked is the benefit of easy access. I mean, if you and your partner(s) are sleeping naked, you are very likely to touch more and to have more sex. Skin to skin contact helps our bodies to release oxytocin, which can help lower blood pressure and anxiety as well as boosting our immune systems. GQ contends sleeping in the buff increases, “The release of oxytocin which is responsible for the flood of positive emotions you feel for your significant other. Since oxytocin is a good stress buster, it can help keep your cortisol levels in check and fight its fattening effects at the same time." More physical touch usually leads to more sex, which can improve your relationship and tends to lend a helping hand in your overall happiness.
